Cosmic Report: This month's 'Quirky' New Moon in Leo
Explore the themes this unique New Moon is bringing, and what to do about it.
‘The Dark Moon’ is the end of the lunar cycle before beginning again, taking place approximately every 27-29 days.
In these ‘dark moon days’ prior to our New Moon in Leo on 16 August 2023, appreciate a moment to REflect, REtreat inward and REst. Then, when feeling REfreshed, RElease whatever is standing in your way of FREEDOM.
This week the Moon has a Square aspect to Uranus… meaning expect the unexpected. Chaos may spark if intentions are not made clear. Using the powerful energy behind current Venus activities allows us to channel our creativity.
With the aspect of a Uranus square to the Moon, we may feel tendencies to release our inner child begging for a moment to stand out in a crowd by acting out of the norm. Quirky reactions from others are totally acceptable for this week.
Though a moment to crave excitement through means of change, be diligent on limiting social interactions and engaging in contracts without meeting your needs first.
Set yourself up for success by keeping your circle small this week. Finish projects outstanding and close out those transactional relationships that are no longer giving back to you.
This month’s New Moon brings us a moment of disruption perhaps, requiring creative solutions for full self-expression.
Did you know…
King Louis XIV gave himself the nickname of the “Sun King” because he believed he was like the sun to France. He believed he was chosen by God to rule and that everything revolved around him. He made the sun his royal symbol. I loved this image so much I had to creep up on his natal chart. Thankful to the folks over at astro.com to confirm he has a strong Leo placement. A Leo Moon in 9th house speaks volumes to what kind of leader he was. Though a busy dad of eighteen kids with four baby mamas, probably strongly self-absorbed, this particular King of France was hellah smart making a powerful, charismatic leader proving a strong legacy to leave behind.
For horoscopes, we look to our Sun and Ascendant signs. I’ve stumbled upon this handy overview of this week’s horoscope for each of the signs here provided by Astrologer, Lauren Howard Coleman.
