Embracing Authenticity with Pluto in Aquarius
I have this theory that in the coming years, being a little weird, quirky, and definitely a little wrinkly, will be in fashion. Let’s delve into the astrology behind this shift.
If you're already tuned into cosmic reports, you know that Pluto moved into the sign of Aquarius earlier in January, where it will stay for around 18 years. Currently, we are retrograding back in Capricorn, so we experience a split in the energies represented by these two zodiac signs. Though strong independence resonates within both energies, this shift is significant offering more innovative, unique diversity while letting go of the restrictive influences Pluto in Capricorn has left.
Pluto moving into Aquarius brings unconventional change and rebellious transitions to our collective themes, focusing on our global goals. Aquarius energy is all about being authentic, establishing a sense of belonging, and forming communities. By evolving our humanitarian goals under Aquarius themes, we let go of the capitalist ideals that Pluto in Capricorn has gone rogue with — specifically, the control of wealth sitting with the upper 10% of the world’s elite staining our Earth and its resources.
We observe trends, heavily influenced by American celebrity culture, where the use of cosmetic enhancements, injectables, and surgical treatments to alter appearances has become the norm for many caught up in this phenomenon.
With the skincare industry promoting narratives that unapologetically urge women to reverse the aging process or emulate others, societal pressure mounts to conform to images that not everyone feels comfortable with, shaping a reality that influences future generations.
As a mother of young girls, I remain cautiously conservative in my use of skincare and beauty products and feel compelled to speak out against the rising trend of aspiring to look like a Kardashian avatar.
On this podcast, I connect with a childhood friend, Angelique Renae, who is great on social media promoting anti-anti-aging content - which is how I found her years back on Facebook promoting her brand. During the pandemic, I like everyone else in the modern world, increased my online learning and found her virtual workshops to be helpful in reprogramming my standards around beauty during my own transformation.
Authenticity Over Aesthetics
Before Pluto entered Capricorn, it was in Sagittarius, a time when Western culture spotlighted growing celebrities. Sagittarius energy is Leo on steroids. Many celebrities are Sagittariuses, and Sagittarius loves to look good and be seen looking good. This era birthed the craze for plastic surgery, lip fillers, and Botox—methods to achieve a certain look.
Then Pluto moved into Capricorn, amplifying this focus on appearance and status. Capricorn also values looking good and flaunting its status through appearance.
But Aquarius doesn't care about any of that. Aquarius wants to break the rules, innovate, and bring things back to what is real and authentic. This energy encourages realness, vulnerability, and being your true self. Pluto in Aquarius is causing a shift towards valuing normal, relatable appearances.
We’re over the fakeness. We're over the pressure to keep up with the Joneses. This mentality is dying as a collective.
Although we haven't seen the major shift yet, we will over the coming years. The future is here and now and this change might happen even sooner due to the South Node being in Libra. The North and South Nodes represent the collective seasons, changing every 2 years, while Pluto signifies long-term generational changes.
Libra rules beauty standards, image, and vanity. With the South Node currently in Libra, we are collectively releasing these values. On July 27, 2026, the South Node will move into Leo, which also rules image, luxury, and fashion. This will bring a major release of these values, with the North Node in Aquarius moving over Pluto. This is when we will likely see new beauty standards, valuing normal (i.e. old, wrinkly, naturally weathered skin, take hold. A general population feeling the need to embrace simply what has been given to them without an obsessive feeling to change their appearance. Wouldn’t that world be a nice one to dwell in?
How to Succeed in the Era of Pluto and Aquarius
To succeed now, authenticity is key. Build your personal brand by showing your true self and sharing behind-the-scenes content. People want to see your journey, not just the final product.
Highlight reels are no longer appealing. This shift is why many are leaving Meta for TikTok, where genuine content thrives with a younger population that doesn’t care about the esthetics of aesthetics. Authenticity on TikTok is driving millions of followers because people crave real connections. The Pluto and Aquarius era is about asking: Are you like me? Can I relate to you and your authenticity?
Entrepreneurs often ask if they should separate their business and personal accounts. The answer is no. People want to see your personal life and journey because it fosters connection, trust, and a sense of belonging—core aspects of Aquarius. So we can start streamlining our platforms into one and thank the folks of Silicon Valley for allowing us the freedom of
to do this quite easily.Embracing the New Beauty Standards
Aquarius represents the future, where niche communities flourish through genuine, unfiltered sharing. The trend of idolising celebrities is fading. We're entering an age where authenticity reigns, and those who succeed do so by being relatable. If they can achieve their dreams, so can you.
This shift will transform success and wealth distribution over the next 20 years. So, start sharing your story and your thoughts. You never know where it might lead.
These astrological movements support this impending shift of new beauty standards that hopefully take hold into mainstream culture. Predictions are always uncertain, but based on astrology, this shift towards authenticity is a high possibility.
