The New Moon & Solar eclipse that took my Mom ♈️ 🌑

But let's accentuate the positive to eliminate the negative...

Mom on the Alter for April

This post is a little late, but for good reason.

Last Wednesday, on March 26th, my mom passed away after a long battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s. Oddly enough, she passed on the same day her sister did years ago. And, in another synchronicity, my stepmother passed on this exact same date a decade ago from an inoperable brain tumour. My dad—who had been divorced from my mother since I was one— reminded me that their wedding anniversary was just the day before, on March 25th. Meanwhile, his anniversary with my stepmother was on March 29th, which this year landed on the solar eclipse. The timing of it all weaving a thread in the bigger tapestry is something I’m still sitting with.

Whenever I share a part of my story with others, I often hear, “Wow, your life is so eventful—you should write a book!” And while that’s certainly on my timeline (though I’m not the only character in that story), writing for me has always been more than storytelling. It’s cathartic. A way to process the layers of emotions that come with moments like these.

My mother’s passing carries deep significance, not just for me but for my sister as well. These past days, I’ve been focusing on family, on my kids, and on simply taking in the reality of it all. She passed peacefully in her sleep and was found by the caretakers at her nursing home in the morning.

The last coherent words she ever spoke to me, back in 2016, were: “Don’t leave me here! Take me with you!” I felt the urgency in her voice, in her plea, and yet I was powerless to change the situation or alter our shared reality. Now, I find comfort in knowing she is finally free from suffering. She leaves behind a strong legacy—one I will share another time.

I actually wrote this article days ago but hadn’t yet recorded the accompanying audio. Honestly, I just haven’t had the energy. Apologies for the poorly recorded audio but the messaging is still important, though I struggle with a lack of tech resources at the moment.

Between personal losses and the weight of global events, I’m taking things as they come. One. Day. At. A. Time. (Sweet white Christian Jesus).

Here’s an ode to my Christian mother, who used to sing this song to me often as a child. It often plays in my head as an ear worm with emotional recall, during the most opportune moments when I know she’s close.

Now, let’s Cover the Highlights to wrap up March that came in like a Ram and exited like a Lion (my Mom was a Leo, and I’m a Leo Rising btw ♌️ 🦁 👑)

New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Aries ♈️

Since April 2023, eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis have been dragging us Cardinal placements (♈️ ♋️ ♎️ ♑️) through what can only be described as an existential obstacle course.

Think boot camp, but for the soul—challenging ambitions, relationships, beliefs, and whether we should really be this attached to comfort zones. If life has felt like a chaotic cosmic blender set to "high speed," congratulations! You're right on track fellow Cardinal dominant placements.

As a Cancer Sun with an Aries Moon opposite Pluto in Libra, this particular 18-month cycle has been an absolute BITCH to manage. A true balance of good and bad events, and me in between trying to find equilibrium.

Last year I kept up with my Substack strategy in writing about topics that kept me focused in a positive mindset, but in reality my private life has been unpleasantly tumultuous.

I took the solar eclipse weekend to binge clean my home, my car, cooked meals with my girls, repotted all the plants in, and outside, of my home, and took two salt baths. Really focusing on purging the past and encouraging others to continue to do the same for this coming period in dutiful ‘spring cleans’.

It’s okay if all you did today was survive

Aries energy doesn't do subtle. It’s not here for slow and steady growth—it’s all about transformation by fire, preferably with a few battle scars to prove the journey was real. And now, with this Solar Eclipse in Aries, consider it a graduation ceremony, a warrior’s initiation, a “do or die” moment.

This wasn’t just another day in the cosmos; it was a milestone in your personal evolution. Then, Neptune slid from Pisces into Aries the very next day, and BAM 💥 astrologers everywhere are screaming from the rooftops about a brand new era of idealism, creativity, and, let’s be honest, throwing some caution to the wind for some next-level illusions spreading like wildfire.

Neptune entered Aries on March 30, 2025, marking its first appearance in this sign since 1861. This transit will continue until October 22, 2025, when Neptune will briefly retrograde back into Pisces. It will re-enter Aries on January 26, 2026, and remain there until March 2039.

This particular transit of Neptune into Aries will be shaping the world for years to come, redefining how we dream, manifest, and (sometimes) deceive ourselves. So, if reality starts feeling a little extra wobbly, just know it's all part of the cosmic program. Like seriously, what a time for our souls to have chosen to be alive on this timeline! It’s as if the universe handed us front-row seats to history in the making. No pressure or anything.

To help navigate this energy, I’ve included a grounding exercise in the audio version of this essay, along with a deep dive into why intentional visualisation is more crucial than ever.

For those who have the capacity, this is an opportunity to amplify the world’s vibration with healthier, more evolved manifestations. The energy is potent—what we focus on now can shape the future. So, let’s keep those vibes high.

I get it—there’s a lot of doom and gloom in the air right now, both in real life and cyberspace. And, most of it is completely justified. But if we’re going to be here for this wild cosmic shift, let’s at least take a collective moment to focus on what a better future can look like. If we can imagine it, we can create it. I personally need a boost of encouragement and that is best made possible with a cast to the collective.

The stars are calling. Are we listening?

RIP Mom 😇
Manifesting a better outcome,
Audra
